Ok, snarky ramblings since my last entry. I went to a nail spa and got both a pedicure and my nails done. I went with silk wrapped nails as my choice on the fingers. Why is it that all nail salons are now run by Asians? Now I have no problem with anyone immigrating *legally* to this country, and achieving the American Dream. But seriously, LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH!!! I told the Asian lady at the reception "desk" that I wanted a pedi with a design, and silk wrapped nails, in natural! The man who did my pedicure was very polite, but did not speak a word of English! Needless to say, I didn't get a design on my toes. Sigh.

The next man who did my fingernails, not only did he drill me with the little drill thing on not one, but two fingers, he did not understand the term Natural. I didn't want nail polish on them, I prefer a natural look on fingernails.
They looked like lavender gel nails!!! NOT the look I was going for.
I raised hell, and instead of having to pay $65.00, ($40.00 for the fingernails and $25.00 for the pedicure with no design) I did get a discount. I only paid $30.00 for both. I was just as pissed as I could be! Someone who spoke marginally better English than the other employees there managed to figure out I was not a happy camper. I will not be returning to that nail salon, as you can probably figure! If you come to this country from another, you should learn to understand our language....if only for your own safety! If you can't understand signs (or read them) or understand when someone warns you about something, you're not likely to have a pleasant time here. A Hispanic man, who was not here legally, worked at the cotton gin here locally. Because he could not read or understand English, he was caught in some of the machinery he did not know how to properly operate and died from his injuries. It was very sad, for us all. The authorities are no longer allowing the hiring of illegal immigrants in this area because of that unfortunate accident.
I have found a salon that is not primarily Asian! I may stand a chance to get natural looking nails when I need to replace my current ones. My nails have a lot of growing to do first!
